World is the oyster for India's youth: Aroon Purie

Aroon Purie India Today Editor-in-chief Aroon Purie on Friday said the world is the oyster for India's youth, saying they can be our demographic dividend. Inaugurating the India Today Conclave 2011 in New Delhi on Friday, Purie said, "The youth can be our demographic dividend, but if we don't get it right, we will have brought demographic disaster upon us." While welcoming guests at the Conclave, Purie also expressed concern over the nuclear radiation in Japan. Highlights of Aroon Purie's speech This year we have made a special effort to make the India Today Conclave 2011 as topical and relevant as possible. My heart goes out to the dignified people of Japan who are battling nuclear radiation. The Al Qaeda which so dominated our first Conclave in 2002 has been rendered speechless by the developments in the Middle East. For the youth in India, the world is their must-have oyster. The 9/11 attack introduced another enemy, without a face or geography, to the world.
